Life-size K9 monuments will be placed in City of Anaheim’s future dog parks

ANAHEIM, Calif. (October 2, 2014) The Kash For K9s volunteer committee will join with local Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts for ‘Fill the Bowl’, under the red hats at Angel Stadium of Anaheim this Friday afternoon, as fans enter the ballpark for Game 2 of the American League Division Series. All donations will be collected for the life-size K9 monuments in Anaheim’s future dog parks.

The monuments will honor Anaheim Police Department K9 officers. Earlier this year, K9 Bruno was shot while on duty. Bruno survived and has inspired millions throughout the world in support of the dangerous work by police officers and their K9 partners each and every day.

“I am thrilled to invite the entire community to join in honoring K9 police officers,” said Anaheim Mayor Pro Tem Kris Murray. “My tremendous thanks to Angels Baseball and all the wonderful volunteers through the Kash For K9s committee and Friends of the Anaheim Police K9s for their support to honor the city’s K-9 unit. The dog parks will be places for families and friends to gather, and the monuments will serve as a reminder that our K9 friends serve and protect us every day.“
